it is clear they are not standing behind their product. I purchased the Bodum The de Chine and it arrived in perfect condition. Then the top of the teapot at where the handle meets the top also cracked. glass products. it is a lost cause, to the trash this product goes. i contacted Bodum in New York about the core, they said they had no warranty on the glass products.
THE DESIGN IS GREAT, BUT THE QUALITY IS NOT THERE. However, after using it for 60 days (about 12 uses) the core filter piece which has slits at the bottom cracked. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT. hmmm. isn't this all they make. i hesitate now to contact them about the teapot crack itself.
BTW, i never put boiling water in it, temp of water was always 10 deg below boiling.
I don't believe anybody at Bodum brewed tea in this pot and then cleaned it. Nice looking, and that is it. Sadly this is a very impractical teapot. It is impossible to remove all the leaves from the slits in the strainer. As another reviewer suggested, dental floss is the only way to clear the leaves from the slits when cleaning.
Is excellent to make any kind of tea for the family or even for oneself, you dont have to spent much time to make tea with this product because just put the right amount or any amount of tea,the amount of water and then serve and drink it,is very easy and very healthy.
This is a great general-use teapot: compact, attractive, functional. I find infusers finicky, preferring a simple strainer when necessary, and so never use them. The top does come off sometimes when pouring (use a spoon to keep it on). But if you just want a simple device with which to make tea this may do you very well indeed.
I really like this pot. I wanted a tea pot which would let my flowering teas show off. I take the infuser out of this, and it's just perfect. I have several, including the one that comes with the Primula teas, but which (imo) is not tall enough to let the teas flower. This pot is my favorite.
